This sermon was taken from our evening worship on 28/11/10 and was our Alpha Course Thanksgiving Service. It was an opportunity to give thanks to God and respond to all that he had done through our Alpha Course, and to be challenged as to what was ahead. It was a brilliant chance to get together as the Community of Carnmoney Church and welcome in lots of new people.

The final part of our time with Mark Driscoll was a Q&A Session during the the Leaders event. This was an opportunity for people to text in their own questions and Mark answered them.

Mark Driscoll was born on October 11, 1970, and graduated from Highline High School in Seattle. He became a Christian as a college freshman in the fall of 1989 at Washington State University, where he received a B.A. in Speech Communications. In 1992 he married his high school sweetheart, Grace, whom he had dated since 1988.

Mark and Grace founded Mars Hill Church in Seattle in October 1996. The church started as a small Bible study in their living room and has since grown to include over six thousand people. In 2008, Outreach magazine named Mars Hill Church the second most innovative church in America.

On Monday 15/11/10, Carnmoney Church hosted the Leader's Session which Evangelical Ministries runs each year after the Mandate event. This was an opportunity for leaders of every description to get together and Mark shared his thoughts on some of the challenges facing the church and how we can react to them as leaders.

On Sunday 14/11/10 Carnmoney Church hosted the Mandate : Remix event organised by Evangelical Ministries. The Remix event was designed for Young Men especially, and as part of the event we had Paul Baloche leading worship and Mark Driscoll speaking. His talk was centred around some of the issues facing men in the world today.
